These signs below show the custom side of Sites and Signs, and how capable we are becoming. They give the illusion of carved wood but they are actually HDU (high density urethane) sign grade foam. This has many benefits over wood, it costs less than wood, it can never rot or get water logged, it carves beautifully, and it is much lighter than wood (allowing less extreme mounting methods). They were hand painted and lettered with specialty sign grade oil based paints (best in the industry, because they are oil based they last a really long time before fading, never chip, crack, or peel), and they were custom gilded with 24 karat gold leaf. We added rod iron scroll work that was bent to match our designs and powder coated for extreme durability. The rod iron really took the signs to the next level of custom signage, and provided a look and feel that is incomparable. The posts are powder coated aluminum which look great, last forever, and are easy to work with. These signs had to meet different requirements from many angles, and it was quite a challenge to make everything come together in a reasonable time frame. In the end, the project was a smashing success! Below are a couple pictures to view, overall we completed over 10 way finding and directory signs through out the Deaconess retirement property in Concord, Ma.
